I dunno what it was that made me think of this, but it's kind of an interesting story and I thought I'd share it here... this was several years ago, when I used to go clubbing a lot and when I went clubbing I drank... I guess it is awful that I do not even remember what they did; if they played with me at all. All I remember is at one point, one of the guys moved as though he were getting on top of me. I had not seen him put a condom on, and I just went ballistic. I started yelling about him not having a condom on, and the guys were trying to calm me down, but... ermmm... I just could not or would not hear them. I was convinced this guy was trying to fuck me without a condom, which basically threw EVERYTHING out the window for me, drunk or not. Hey guys, I am sorry I have not been posting so much lately... I found out last week that I have Lyme Disease, and can I tell you??? It sucks! The antibiotics are the size of horse pills and they are just nasty in every respect. I am starting to feel better though... so everyone be careful out there in the woods this summer!

I kinda think Bush supporters read 1984, and understood it, but DON'T CARE... except when that whole loss of freedom thing affects them *directly* as in this case.

For anyone who thinks it's unrelated, it's not. A society which penalizes anyone who has sex (restrictions on birth control, emergency contraception, gay marriage, condom distribution, HPV vaccines, shutting down porn sites (!!!) to name a few issues dear to my heart), is a society which fosters whackos who can harasss consenting adults with impunity. That's the reality.

V for Vendetta...

C and I were able to go see V for Vendetta this weekend, and we were both transfixed. I had actually read a pretty negative review of it, based largely (I think) upon the fact that it doesn't necessarily adhere closely to the graphic novel version. I don't know, I haven't read it yet, although I plan to... but I think the movie was pretty amazing in its own right.

I remember one of my conservative friends telling me that even though he is liberal on all the same social issues I am (gay marriage, sexual freedom in general), he didn't bother voting based on that because he didn't think anything bad would ever happen in that department. Hmm. Now we live in a world where conservatives are blocking a vaccine which would protect women from cancer, because they are worried it would make them have more sex.

These things do start small. The whole point is to see it when it is smaller and stop it when it is smaller, vs. shrugging and letting it grow until it is out of control. At least, that is how I feel.

It's all about priorities I suppose... to a broke chick like me, having more taxes is less of an issue (even though it's harder for me to pay them) then keeping the government out of my bedroom.

OK, so I don't know if everyone heard about this or not, but... there was this guy, the "Husband on Strike." He left his house, set up a tent on his roof, and was "on strike," because his wife was paying too much attention to their two-month-old son. Yeps... he decided that his two-month-old son, who is not yet capable of sitting up, was manipulating his wife and was "spoiled."

Some reporters did a smidgen of snooping around and found out the guy is on the Michigan State Sex Offenders List. With a soft whimper of "I didn't think you guys would expose me!", he has pulled his site down, and presumably ended his strike.

Hmmm, even Fox News pulled their links to this guy. (They were touting him as "promoting marital values," or somesuch absolute positive bullshit. I guess "women and children first" is just a saying to these people.)
